The Daddy Rabbit!

Looking back in my memory book, I found some stories that Tanja and I had written from our high school years. One was entitled "The Daddy Rabbit" a tribute to one of our greatest heroes in high school, our former teacher, Mr. Sonny Miller- a.k.a. The Daddy Rabbit. Remember, he was our 8th grade science teacher and Ag teacher in High School. How can we ever forget the density equation from 8th grade science class, remember he wrote it on the chalk board every day
D = m/v (dense equals mass over volume) along with the date, every day written at the top corner of his chalk board. Such a strict and disciplined man, you knew you were in trouble when he caught you doing something wrong and gave you the "signal." The signal would be him holding up 3 or 5 fingers, giving you the choice to 1. come over to the ag building- on your lunch hour for three consecutive days to clean the building 2. The 5-finger signal- meaning five pages front and back of definitions from the glossary of the beloved science book. Of course, no double-spacing, and neatness always counted. Now did he give spankings as an option- you all will have to help me out with this, because I always remember him saying "What's it gonna be, Me or the Man?"- meaning go and get a paddling from Mr. Peterson, right?..but it seems like I remember him having a big-ass paddle?
If you were caught trying to sneak of campus or without a hall pass, you may be required to do push-ups for the Daddy Rabbit. We were treated on some days when his son, Chad, would come over to our classroom and do his impression of the "Burgers and Bones" television commercial and would sing for us. And don't dare enter his building without knocking, if so, you would be given a "signal." One of his famous phrases "Hey Bozo!"- he would often use this when catching you in the act of doing something wrong! I am sure you all can remember and post some other funny "Daddy Rabbit-isms" from back in the day...

A Step Back in Time

OK, i can not say how excited i am about this!!! There are sooo many memories that we will enjoy and remember over this weekend. Just one little side note, PLEASE DONT EXPECT GIN AND I TO LOOK LIKE WE DID WHEN DAVID O'KELLY PULLED US ON HIS RAFT BEHIND HIS LITTLE ALUMINUM BOAT!!!! LOL.....oh and while we were being pulled along behind the boat, some of you wonderful cooks were doing the job on the bar b q chicken....when i think about how many people handled that raw chicken, its amazing we are all still alive! I guess what didnt kill us only made us stronger!!!! O I LOVE IT!

United Edward College Fund

Do you all remember when we would work the concession stand and we would joke and say we were collecting money for the "United Edward College Fund?"... Edward, I agree with Lane- you were so hilarious, I know you are still the same today!
It's going to be so much fun getting together and talking about old times!

Mrs. Sally's class

Edward

I think our finest moments were in Mrs. Sally's Algebra II class cutting up. I still laugh when I think about all those screwed up pictures you would draw and pass over to me. I remember laughing so hard that she would put me out in hall. No surprise I failed her class!

I remember the mud dogging adventure that you, Shawn Kelly, and I went on during the middle of the school day. We got drunk, drove thru the woods, and played on some logging equipment. We went to shop class when we got back praying Mr. Peterson wouldn't smell the beer on us. That was a blast!

You were the funniest mo fo in the entire school!

Negreet Reunion

Hello All,

I am getting so excited about seeing everyone. It feels like I have been away for so so long and it will be nice to get back and visit with everyone again. Thanks to all who are pulling this together and I will help anyway I can from Virginia, just let me know.

Ryan, I am glad to hear you might be coming. Thanks for getting the blogger website up and running for us.

It is funny, I just went to a seminar where we were discussing how to utilize blogging to teach the new generations coming into the work force so this will give me practice and ideas how to implement into my training courses. You helped me kill two birds with one stone. Ha Ha.

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know I was onboard and online with everyone so lets start chatting.

Jessica

Where is Good ole Rex at these days?

And Ryan Thanks for the blog.

Negreet Reunion

It appears that the more responsible adults have taken up the planning and execution of the meeting places and activities.

If no one objects I would prefer to just contribute $ for food and drink purchases for the get together at Edward/Jennifer's.

Whoever contributes to the shopping can let me know how much and where to send the money.

I'm stoked about seeing everyone and talking about the good ole days!

Pics On the Way In Near Future!

FYI-
I have a lot of pictures of our class-from high school-that I will be posting soon on Ryan's photo page that he created for us, I just have to get them scanned and saved.

Yes, Janice- we need to put some pressure on Rex now....

Thank you for setting up the blog Ryan!
Thanks Ryan!!!
Glad you've changed you're mind--now we just gotta work on Rex!
